Group Meeting #2

Hello!! Today we had our second group meet of this project! It was so fun learning about everyones projects! We discussed our ideas, obstacles, advice and much more! I was in a group with Gus, Bella, Ishaan, Oliver, and Isabella.

Everyones openings are so different and it is so cool to see the variety of all the ideas! When I explained my opening they gave me a few helpful tips. They gave me an idea that since I was not able to acquire a drone shot for my opening I can use a really tall ladder and do it that way. This is worth considering but I would need to test it out first because I am not sure how good that would end up looking. They also gave me a few ideas of where to film my car crash scene which was very helpful! They told me that my mise-en-scene is really good which I am very proud of because a huge piece of my opening is about Adam's character development. 

Gus and Bella are working together on their project and it is a story about a a girl that is a spy but she is very humorous. It is a briefcase exchange at a bar and then the girl tricks the "villain" and gives him nothing in the briefcase and he starts chasing her. I really like this idea and thing it has a lot of potential to be an amazing opening. Where they are filming it is a very popular restaurant so I wonder how they are going to film it but I do think it is a cool concept that they will be surrounded by people that can add to the amount of chaos happening in the opening. 

Ishaans idea is a comedy that is inspired by the film "Hangover", it is about a group of friends that are on a trip together. He is going to have a man coming home and he sees that the front door is propped open, he is going to play creepy music and then its going to be comedic relief and it is just going to be his friend. I like this idea but I feel like he needs to add more to character development. He has an idea of filming the car scene from the trunk of another moving car which I think may be pretty difficult to do. If he can execute well it will be a really cool shot. 

Olivers idea is about a drug deal that turns into a kidnapping. He already filmed his entire opening which I think is very good. In the group meeting me and a few others gave him some advice to change specific shots to make it even better. He was planning on having the guy who got kidnapped be killed at the end of the opening, I said that he should consider changing that element because if the main character dies in the opening it is confusing to know what the whole movie would be about. 

Isabellas opening is a romance/action. I really like this idea and think it is very different and going to be interesting to watch. It is about 2 mafia families that are best friends. One son from one family and one daughter from the other one both need to get married for different reasons. They will make a deal that they will get married to each other for one year but while the are married, they fall in love for real. I really like how many aspects this project has to it and it is very complex. It might be hard for her to show all of these things without the opening becoming too confusing. I asked her what she is going to do to not make it confusing and she said she is going to add a lot of dialogue.
