Mise-en-scene
Costume design -
Mis-en-scene is going to play a huge part in my groups opening which is going to help emphasize the switch between before the crash and after it.
Before the crash we want to use costumes that give off the feeling of "life". For the passenger we want them to be wearing a very distinct colorful outfit. Maybe something like a pattern or a very bright color that will stand out. We also want her to be wearing very light pink makeup and lipgloss to emphasize the character and personality she had before her death. For the driver they are also going to be wearing a bright color to show the happiness that they feel before the tragedy occurs.
After the crash the costume design is completely going to change for the driver. He is going to be wearing very dull boring clothes symbolizing that he lost the “spark” in his life. The girl is going to keep on the same outfit that she had on when the crash occurred but we are going to use lighting to make it not as bright showing how she lost her life.
-An example of a type of outfit we might use for the girl at the beginning
